I suppose this is true for any pursuit, but there eventually comes a point when an activity suddenly “clicks” and becomes a full-on obsession. The latest for me has been cycling: since getting a new bike, I’ve been hooked on seeking and covering more pavement and elevation than I ever did during the combined 4+ years I was riding in the Bay Area.
Lately I’ve been helping out on a friend’s small film, which has effectively become an opportunity to develop my photo skills as I take behind-the-scenes images to document the shoot (so to speak).
Before we begin, a confession: I skipped the original Dead Space mainly because I was not a fan of horror games, let alone shooters capitalizing on this genre. Quite frankly, I’ve experienced enough monster closets and cheap deaths from Doom3 to last several console generations and was not interested in another re-hash. Still, the reviews for the Dead Space sequel have been stellar and it’s been met with many recommendations from friends, so when the opportunity came to try out a friend’s copy, I carved out some time to check it out.
