I suppose this is true for any pursuit, but there eventually comes a point when an activity suddenly “clicks” and becomes a full-on obsession. The latest for me has been cycling: since getting a new bike, I’ve been hooked on seeking and covering more pavement and elevation than I ever did during the combined 4+ years I was riding in the Bay Area.
This past week saw a return to sunny Los Angeles for SIGGRAPH in an effort to learn, socialize, and check out some awesome art and tech. With so much to digest and a slow recovery from sleep deprivation (and possibly alcohol poisoning), I’m going to limit myself by posting my two favorites from the show.
It’s hard to put a finger on my overall verdict with this one. I’ve devoted enough time (read: a lot) to create two level 60 characters, yet all it only took was a few minutes into a new mode to make me question if, all along, I had been completely wasting my time. Continue reading “Diablo 3”
I’ve been unusually up-to-date with movies this season, perhaps due to this year’s particularly compelling summer lineup. Here’s a quick summary of the highlights so far (in no particular order):
What a difference a two weeks makes! After a particularly hectic spring production season (Pirates4, Super8, Transformers3, Cowboys+Aliens) I took a couple weeks off to hang out with the fam and generally stay away from a keyboard and mouse.
